SMART Recovery at On Our Own
SMART Recovery stands for Self-Management and Recovery Training. SMART is a mutual support model that is free and open to anyone seeking science-based, self-empowered addiction recovery. Meetings are welcoming for those receiving medication assisted treatment (MAT) and are offered locally and virtually through On Our Own.

Alcoholics Anonymous (AA)
AA offers free support groups for substance use disorder for men and women who struggle with a drinking problem. It is nonprofessional, self-supporting, multiracial, and apolitical.

Narcotics Anonymous (NA)
PIedmont Area NA offers free support groups for men and women for whom drugs have become a major problem. NA is concerned with the disease of addiction and recovery from that disease; the drug (or drugs) of choice is unimportan

Celebrate Recovery
Celebrate Recovery is a Christian, 12 Step recovery program for anyone struggling with hurt, hang-ups, and habits of any kind. There are Celebrate Recovery groups located at Cherry Avenue in Charlottesville and New Life Community Church in Louisa.

Al-Anon offers free support groups for relatives and friends of alcoholics who share their experience, strength, and hope, in order to solve their common problems.

Nar-Anon offers free support groups for those who know or have known a feeling of desperation concerning the addiction problem of a loved one.

Famliies Anonymous (FA)
Families Anonymous (FA) is a 12-step fellowship for the family and friends of individuals with drug, alcohol, or related behavioral issues. They have resources as well as phone and local, in-person support groups.

Georgia's Friends Charlottesville
Georgia’s Friends provides programs and services in the Charlottesville-Albemarle community to help women suffering from drug and alcohol addiction and co-occurring mental health challenges. Georgia’s House (previously Georgia’s Healing House), the signature initiative, provides hope and healing through a safe, therapeutic, and structured home for women in recovery.
